What are e-procurement systems?
E-procurement systems facilitate the procurement processes conducted by UN organizations by digitally handling the different steps of the procurement process: sourcing, solicitation, bid opening, evaluation, and award.
UN organizations use different e-procurement systems and may use them differently:
- Integrated with UNGM

As a stand-alone system
1. Integrated e-procurement platforms
Currently, 17 UN organizations have their e-procurement systems integrated with UNGM: FAO, IFAD, ICAO, ILO, ITC, ITU, PAHO, UN Secretariat, UNESCO, UNICC, UNICEF, UNOPS, UNRWA, WIPO, WTO, WMO, and WHO.
These e-procurement systems are the following:
- Ariba: UN Secretariat utilizes the Ariba e-Tendering solution to facilitate the electronic submission of solicitations from its suppliers. This is an integral part of the Procurement process. For more information, check this page from the UNGM Knowledge Center: Ariba
- eSourcing: The UNOPS e-procurement system that facilitates the procurement processes conducted at UNOPS by handling online sourcing, solicitation, bid opening, evaluation, and award. For more information, check this page from the UNGM Knowledge Center: UNOPS eSourcing

Integrating the UNGM and e-procurement systems enables potential suppliers to electronically submit their bids or proposals for procurement opportunities published on UNGM.

Suppliers may electronically express interest in a procurement opportunity on UNGM.

Suppliers may access procurement opportunity details and documentation in the UN organization's e-procurement system.

Suppliers may electronically submit their bids or proposals in the UN organization's e-procurement system.
2. Stand-alone systems (not integrated e-procurement platforms)
Some UN organizations use standalone e-procurement portals that are not integrated with UNGM, but that use API web service to publish procurement opportunities from their system.

If the e-procurement platform is integrated into UNGM, users may contact us if they have issues expressing interest in procurement opportunities. Once the View documents appear, the issue is out of the scope of UNGM.
If the e-procurement platform is not integrated into UNGM, requests should be directed to the respective organization and procuring unit.
