Registering on the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) is the first step towards doing business with the United Nations.
UNGM provides a single online platform where suppliers can create a profile, access procurement opportunities and make their company information available to UN staff members looking for potential suppliers.
Why register on UNGM?
One registration for 32 UN Organizations
UNGM provides a common registration form for 32 UN Organizations, making it easier for suppliers to access the UN market through a single platform.
Make your company visible to UN staff
Once your registration is completed, your supplier profile can be viewed by UN staff members when they are sourcing potential suppliers. UNGM is used by more than 30,000 UN staff members worldwide, giving registered suppliers visibility across UN Organizations, regions and countries.
Access UN procurement opportunities
Registration on UNGM is required to participate in procurement opportunities from many UN Organizations. For some procurement opportunities, UNGM also serves as the entry point to the organization's e-procurement system.
Equal access for suppliers
The Basic registration level is available to suppliers regardless of their size. The information required at this level is the same for all suppliers, and the majority of suppliers registered on UNGM are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
How to get started on UNGM
Before registering, suppliers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the UN market and identify the UN Organizations whose procurement needs are relevant to their products or services.
Then, follow these steps:
1. Create and activate your UNGM account
Create a supplier account using a valid email address and your company's business licence number. For more information, read the: How to create a supplier account on UNGM? article.
Once your account has been created, activate it using the instructions sent to your email address.
2. Complete the Basic registration
After activating your account, complete the Basic registration. This is the common registration level for suppliers and is required by most UN Organizations. For more information, read the: How do suppliers complete the registration form at the Basic Level? article.
The Basic registration requires general information about your company and does not require supporting documentation.
Once the Basic registration has been completed, your supplier profile becomes visible to UN staff members when sourcing potential suppliers.
3. Complete additional registration levels when required
Some UN Organizations require suppliers to provide additional information before they can participate in certain procurement opportunities.
- Level 1: An additional registration level that provides information about the supplier's legal status, ownership, management structure, intermediaries and previous clients.
- Level 2: An additional registration level that builds on Level 1 and requires further evidence of the supplier's experience and financial capacity. Suppliers must have been established for at least three years to register at Level 2.
UNGM automatically enables Level 1 and/or Level 2 when these levels are required by an organization. The registration level required for a specific procurement opportunity is indicated in the opportunity details.
For details of the information and documents required at each level, read the: What are the requirements for registration on UNGM? article.
4. Explore and participate in procurement opportunities
Once the registration has been completed, suppliers can search for procurement opportunities published on UNGM and review the eligibility and registration requirements for each opportunity.
The registration level required to participate may vary depending on the organization and the procurement opportunity.
For more information, read the: How to access procurement opportunities on UNGM? article.
Disclaimer
Registering on UNGM does not guarantee to receive a contract. Organizations conduct their own procurement processes and apply their respective procurement rules and requirements.
Keeping your supplier profile complete and up to date can help ensure that UN staff members have access to current information about your company when sourcing potential suppliers.
