UNSPSC codes are essential for receiving tailored procurement opportunity notifications through the Tender Alert Service (TAS). For more information, read the: What are UNSPSC codes? article.
Notifications are triggered when there is a precise match between the supplier's selected UNSPSC codes and those of the procurement opportunities chosen by Staff members.
Suppliers may check the UNSPSC codes selected under a relevant procurement opportunity and then select the same codes under the TAS settings.
These UNSPSC codes may be edited at any time. To select or edit UNSPSC codes in the TAS, follow these steps:
1. Once logged in to your UNGM account, click on My UNGM Pro in the navigation menu.
2. Under the Goods and Services tab, choose UNSPSC codes relevant to the desired procurement opportunities.
3. Click on the Show selected codes button to display the UNSPSC codes already pre-selected from the registration at Basic level.
4. Select as many codes as necessary and click on the Save XX selected codes button to complete the process.
Important information when selecting UNSPSC codes
Type one keyword in the search bar to find codes
The system will suggest some relevant UNSPSC codes based on the provided keyword. Try different keywords for the same product and service if the search returns no relevant results.
Check the box next to a code and all subcodes under that code will also be selected
Include as many codes as necessary. For accuracy, Segment (letters A to J) and Family (first-level numbers) codes cannot be selected directly. In the example below:
- Segment level: G - Business, Communication & Technology Equipment & Supplies
- Family level: 43000000 - Information Technology Broadcasting and Telecommunications
Ensure that the selected codes correspond to either product or service categories
- Products range from 10000000-60000000 and 95000000
- Services range from 64000000-94000000
Unselecting codes
- To unselect a specific UNSPSC code, untick the checkbox next to the UNSPSC code.
- To unselect the entire UNSPSC code selection, click on the Clear selected codes button.
