The Tender Alert Service (TAS) sends notifications of relevant procurement opportunities to suppliers subscribed to the service.
The TAS is triggered by selecting UNSPSC codes. This ensures alerts are sent based on your preferred products and services.
For more information, read the following article: What are UNSPSC codes?
How does the TAS work?
TAS notifications are sent when there is a match between:
- the supplier's UNSPSC codes selected in the TAS settings, and
- the UNSPSC codes of the procurement opportunity selected by UN staff members.
UNSPSC codes match
Suppliers will receive alerts with an exact code match and all codes under that segment.
For example, if the code 20100000 - Mining and quarrying machinery and equipment is selected, users will receive procurement opportunities with this code and all the inner codes:
- 20101500 - Cutting equipment
- 20101600 - Screens and feeding equipment
- 20101700 - Crushers and breakers and grinders, etc.

How often do subscribers receive notifications?
The TAS screens procurement opportunities that have been newly published or newly revised and compares them with the supplier's UNSPSC code selection on a daily basis. Therefore:
- An email will be sent to the supplier's contacts if one or more procurement opportunities match the supplier's UNSPSC code selection.
- There will not be any email sent to the supplier's contacts if there is no procurement opportunity that has been published corresponding to the supplier's UNSPSC code selection.
